Lyric A Day started off as part of my Final Major Project at the University of Salford. After three years, I decided I wanted to look in to hand rendered typography.

Music is my second passion, after graphic design of course. Combine my two loves, and Lyric a Day was born. For 12 weeks I illustrated a line from a song that I had in my iTunes. I ended up with 100 images.

There were good, and there were many bad days. But it was all a learning curve. I went from drawing on paper with my left hand to pouring blood on a fellow student and cutting letters out of Rizla papers.

It ended up being my favourite project at University and had so much interest I’ve tried to keep it going. I take custom orders for a fee and sell photography prints of the project at Etsy.

This is a selection of the work I have been doing since February 4th 2011.
